𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 Hey everyone, I'm sure many of you saw the market dip on Friday, especially in the tech sector driven by headlines about potential new trade tariffs This tends to make investors nervous and I wanted to share my perspective on this. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 When there's talk of new tariffs, the market gets worried about the potential for escalating trade tensions between major economies. This could mean higher costs for companies, disruptions in supply chains, and a general slowdown. In response, some investors sell first and ask questions later, leading to the kind of "risk-off" day we saw on Friday. 𝗦𝗼, 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗠𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲? For now, I'm staying put. My job as a long-term investor isn't to react to every political headline. Instead, it's to focus on the bigger picture. The reality is, a shift in trade rhetoric doesn't change the massive, multi-year trends that are driving the global economy. Companies and governments worldwide are still going to pour billions into AI, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity. My portfolio is built around the companies providing the essential "picks and shovels" for this digital revolution – names like $NVDA, $MSFT, and $AVGO. Their growth is tied to this long-term global demand, which is a much more powerful force than short-term political noise. For that reason, I made no changes to the portfolio. My strategy is built on discipline, a long-term view, and a strict zero-leverage policy, which allows me to ride out this kind of volatility without any pressure. These are the moments where having a clear plan makes all the difference.
